Created by Don Beach in the 1930s and resurrected back to life by the investigative journalism of Jeff Berry, the Zombie is a staple of every tiki bar in the world.

Zombie

Rum, rum, rum, falernum, absinthe, lime, grapefruit, and cinnamon


Glassware

Tiki mug, highball or a coconut


Garnish

Mint bouquet


Ingredients

30ml Dark rum

15ml White Rum

15ml Overproof rum

30ml Acidified Grapefruit Juice (Adjusted to the acidity of a lime)

2 dashes of absinthe

1 dash of aromatic bitters (such as Angostura)

2 drops of Saline Solution


Recipe

  1. Prepare the glass and garnish.

  2. Shake everything together with ice.

  3. Fine strain into an ice-filled glass.

  4. Garnish.
