A smooth, bright whisky classic with lemon, sugar, bitters and a soft foamy top.
A well-made Whisky Sour is one of the best ways to bring balance and life to almost any bottle of whisky. The basic sour formula is also easy to customise, making it a great recipe for trying different syrups, bitters and spirits.
Whisky Sour
Whisky, lemon and foam.
Glassware
Rocks glass.
Garnish
Skewered lemon and cherry.
Ingredients
60ml Whisky
30ml Lemon Cocktail Juice
15ml Simple Sugar Syrup
15ml cocktail foamer, such as egg whites
2 dashes aromatic bitters, such as Angostura
1 dash of orange bitters
Recipe
Prepare your glass and garnish first.
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
Shake hard until chilled.
Strain out the ice, then shake again without ice to build the foam.
Fine strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with a skewered lemon and cherry.
