A bright tequila cocktail with aperitivo, lime and orgeat.


The Dead Man’s Handle takes its name from a safety switch designed to stop a train if the driver lets go. The drink itself is much more inviting: tequila, bitter-sweet aperitivo, lime and orgeat come together to make something simple, sharp and quietly complex.

Dead Man's Handle

Tequila, aperitivo, orgeat and lime.


Glassware

Rocks glass.


Garnish

Lime wedge.


Ingredients

45ml Tequila

20ml Aperitivo, such as Aperol, or Pompelle

15ml Orgeat


Recipe

Prepare your glass and garnish first.

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.

Shake hard until chilled.

Fine strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.

Garnish with a lime wedge.
