A rich, spirit-forward cocktail with rum, demerara and bitters.

Rum works beautifully in an Old Fashioned-style drink. Demerara Syrup adds depth and a soft molasses-like sweetness, while bitters help bring structure and spice.

Rum Old Fashioned

Rum, demerara and bitters.

Glassware

Rocks glass.

Garnish

Orange twist.

Ingredients

60ml Rum

10ml Demerara Syrup

2 dashes of aromatic bitters, such as Angostura

Recipe

Prepare your glass and garnish first.

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.

Stir until chilled and properly diluted.

Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

Garnish with an orange twist.
