This cocktail got its name from being an 'improved' version of the Whisky Cocktail, which we now refer to as the Old Fashioned. So does that make this drink the 'new, old-fashioned' or the 'old, new-fashioned'?

Ingredients

30ml Whisky (such as Bourbon)

30ml Rye Whisky

5ml Maraschino liqueur (such as Luxardo)

2.5ml Absinthe

5ml Gomme Syrup

1 dash of cardamom-based bitters (such as Boker's Bitters)

Recipe

1. Prepare your glass and garnish.

2. Stir all ingredients with ice.

3. Strain into the glass filled with ice.

4. Garnish.
